The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival, which usually stops in Great Falls on its world tour, will be offered virtually this year.
Dave Elmquist, fundraising coordinator for the Great Falls Ski Patrol, said the film festival has been the group’s “sole fundraiser for the past 25 years.”
“We’re glad we’re able to offer at least a virtual show. (This fundraiser) provided us revenue through the years to be a well-outfitted and trained organization. It’s been great,” he said, adding he is grateful for community support.
Elmquist acknowledged the virtual fundraiser won’t be quite the same as in years past, but he remains hopeful.
“It’s become such a tradition for the community, it’s almost a reunion every fall before we get up to the hill. So we regret we can’t see everyone this year, but we hope this will kind of fill the void until next year,” he said.
